Lyrics

Home. Home again, and what was once hearth, is now but recollections of another time.
Archaeologists, unearthing relics of a different me.

Strange, new fires, light on the horizon.
Shadows reach out, grasping only rain filled dark, for I am but wraith in History now.
Places, almost hallowed – once. Now issue disembodied coughs, to aware me to another’s presence.
In these seldom tread, non-paved pathways, unknown beasts look from the safety of the trees, new Trolls thunder under bridges.
The baton of old society has been passed, unaware maybe, but one always finds their own.

I feel the ache of history catch me, but I am no longer of them, but an outsider.
I should not have returned. Some things are best left to silver lined memory.
And though I still weary – sometimes – for my ancient worlds.
At least in this time, the grass Is greener, and so taking flight to those new pastures, I leave the books to be rewritten in an old haunt.
